You Can Make a Difference

Individual Volunteers

Rebuilding Together welcomes volunteers of all skill levels to participate in our Rebuilding projects. We are currently in the process of re-envisioning the way that our organization utilizes volunteers, moving towards a model which will provide critical repairs to households on a year-round basis. While we have traditionally recruited volunteers for two large annual events, our Fall and Spring Rebuilding Days, we are transitioning towards having more regular projects focused on a single household in one day.

Rebuilding Together Baltimore is especially looking for skilled volunteers to participate in our repair program. We are seeking volunteers who are skilled in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, glazing, HVAC, lead safety, roofing, plaster/drywall, concrete, weatherization, extermination, locksmithing, window repair, and general handy people.

You can commit to as much time volunteering as fits your availability and skill level. Home repair projects may range from installing grab grab bars or repairing a faucet to fixing a broken heating system.

Groups and Corporate Team Builds

Is your business or organization interested in working together to support a homeowner in need? Our Corporate Team Building Program offers the opportunity for businesses to spend a day together working on site to complete home repairs. These projects are planned and led by Rebuilding Together staff, and they offer an excellent chance for your employees to build teamwork skills, do valuable community service, and gain visibility for your organization.

Occupational Therapists

Many of the homeowners we work with live in unsafe housing conditions which place them at added risk for falling or injury. In order to provide repairs which will help these homeowners live more safely and comfortably in their homes, we rely on occupational therapists to complete home safety evaluations and to recommend home safety modifications. Volunteer occupational therapists complete as many home safety evaluations as they like and can schedule evaluations for whenever they are free.
