Meet our Honorees

On September 19th, 2014, we celebrated RTB's 25th Anniversary! At the event, we honored 25 volunteers and organizations who have helped us along the way.





Mike Falkner has volunteered as a House Captain with RTB for over 20 years. Mike also served on our board of directors for many years, and served as Board President in the mid-90s.








Thomas Feulner has volunteered as a House Captain with RTB for 25 years! Tom has led teams from the Catholic Alumni Club, the Baltimore Tall Club, and Friends of Tom Feulner.









Lou Kozlakowski has served as RTB’s pro bono counsel to the board for over 10 years. He also worked tirelessly as a House Captain for many years, including heading up a HUGE project when we won the HGTV contest in 2008.






Cliff Webster served on the RTB Board of Directors for over 10 years. He also served as a volunteer House Captain for dozens of Rebuilding Day houses and other key projects when he was with Provident Bank.








Charles Murray has volunteered as a House Captain with RTB for over 20 years.  Charlie served on our Board of Directors for many years, including serving as Board Treasurer for several years.










Kenneth Strong’s vision and creativity has been instrumental in RTB’s growth and our formation of partnerships with other public and private agencies. Ken has helped RTB to leverage over $300,000 in funding from public and private sources.






Greg Susman served on the RTB Board of  Directors for over 10 years, and as a House Captain and Home Inspector for dozens of Rebuilding Day houses. Greg launched our first website and helped RTB enter the 21st Century.






The Abell Foundation provided funding for RTB when we hired our first full-time Executive Director in 2004. The foundation has been a generous supporter and partner since. The Abell Foundation has been an integral supporter of our organization’s growth over the last ten years. Tracey Barbour-Gillett, a Program Officer at the foundation, served as an incredibly valuable RTB board member for several years.

Baltimore Housing has supported RTB with Community Development Block Grants since 2005. The original CDBG grant awarded was instrumental to our growth in the mid-2000s. Tom Jaudon (deceased), who worked at Baltimore Housing for many years, was one of the original founders of RT Baltimore.

The Ruckdeschel Law Firm has been a generous financial supporter of RTB for over 8 years. The firm is committed to safer and healthier homes for all people.

Construction Specifications Institute has supported RTB for over 15 years. Every year, they adopt one or more houses for Rebuilding Day. They have been generous financial contributors and have helped us to recruit countless skilled volunteers.

AmeriCorps NCCC has, for six years, been the army of people needed to help RTB get ready for, execute, and wrap up from our annual Rebuilding Day. Since 2009, we have hosted a fabulous team once a year for three weeks. They help us all stay sane during the Rebuilding Day season. We love them all, and are grateful for their service.

Paul’s Place was an invaluable RTB partner in RTB’s work in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore City. The organization lent RTB their space for numerous meetings and volunteer trainings, adopted a Rebuilding Day house, helped RTB to recruit homeowner applicants, and dedicated $100,000 of their  most recent capital campaign to support RTB’s work in Pigtown.

M&T Bank has been a generous financial supporter of RTB for over 15 years. They have adopted numerous houses for our annual Rebuilding Day. Cliff Webster, of the former Provident Bank, served on the RTB Board of Directors and as a House Captain for over ten years. M&T has also generously donated storage space to RTB for over 8 years.

Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) has been a generous financial supporter of RTB for over 20 years. BGE employees have volunteered on numerous home    repair projects, and in 2012 they provided lovely gifts for each homeowner we served on Rebuilding Day. Mike LeSavage (deceased) served on the RTB board of directors for five years.

Stanley Black & Decker has supported RTB for over 10 years. Stanley     Employees have volunteered on some of our biggest home repair projects. Recently, Stanley has donated thousands of dollars worth of power tools to RTB, and has also made generous financial contributions to RTB.

Travelers has been a valuable partner to RTB for over 20 years. The Travelers volunteer teams have worked on dozens of houses, and their financial support has been incredibly generous, Charlie Murray from Travelers served on our board for many years.

Baltimore County Department of Planning has supported RTB for over 20 years. The Department provides generous funding to support our annual Rebuilding Day. Jeanann Ferguson from the department served on our board of directors for many years.

Booz Allen Hamilton has been a generous financial supporter of RTB for 20 years. Each April on National Rebuilding Day, Booz Allen employees across the nation join together in their communities to help improve homes for deserving individuals and families.  Booz Allen Hamilton has taken on some of RTB’s most challenging projects over the years. Numerous Booz Allen employees have served as house captains and skill captains, including Eric Vondy, who also served on the board of RTB for two years.

Loyola University, Maryland has supported RTB for over 10 years. Teams of students and facilities staff have taken on numerous Rebuilding Day houses. Former board member Erin O’Keefe served as a house captain when she was a student, and continued to serve RTB from 2004 to 2014 as a member of our Board of Directors. Loyola has also provided generous financial and in-kind support for our recent work in the Govans community.

Maryland Occupational Therapy Association has been instrumental in our Fall and Injury Prevention efforts for seniors and people with disabilities. MOTA has helped to recruit dozens of volunteer Occupational Therapists to conduct home safety assessments that help our clients live in safer homes.

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston has supported RTB for over 15 years. Firm partner Kevin Hroblak currently serves on our Board of Directors, and volunteers as a House Captain every year. The firm has also made generous financial contributions to RTB over the past 15 years.

Hereford United Methodist Church has supported RTB for 25 years. Volunteers from HUMC have taken on some of our most challenging projects over the years. HUMC has also provided generous financial support for RTB.
